Eye Lasick Surgery
Mar 21, 2001

Hi, I want to have Laser Vision Correction done on my eyes, is this safe for HIV+ people? Is there a specific doctor I should go to in the NYC area? Thank you very much.

Response from Dr. Boyle

As long as you are doing well with HIV disease and have not had any eye related problems, I am unaware of any contraindication to having laser vision correction performed. I am not aware of any specific doctor to refer you to, but you should make sure that it is someone with extensive experience and you should check with them and your HIV doctor to make sure you don't have any problems that may affect your ability to have the laser surgery performed.
