| What exactly are the symptoms of high insulin, insulin resistance and very high normal glucose levels? May 6, 2004 What are the symptoms of insulin resistance and very high normal glucose levels? On that HgB 1a (?) test that gives you the three month average for your glucose, I was at 5.9 with 6 being the highest level for a non diabetic. Am awaiting results of a glucose tolerance test done yesterdy (was not very pleasant..struggled not to throw up the glucose). Can you please clarify the symptoms that one feels from high insulin (mine is 34.4 with highest for normal at 17), insulin resistance and glucose levels that average 105 to 125? Would it explain nausea,a speeded up metabolism/racing pulse rates, fluctuating high blood pressure, hot and clammy skin and neuropathies etc? Many thanks for the wonderful service and advice that you provide. |

Response from Dr. Henry
Most patients with insulin resistance and no frank diabetes are relatively symptom free (even with a high insulin). I could provide some more specifics depending on your HIV status and which HIV drugs you are taking. KH | |||||||||
