high CD4 count
Apr 30, 2004

sir, we have tested HIV and the results are HIV -I & II positive ,we had CD4 is at 340 level .please tell that it is in what stage and tell what treatment we have to take for this results.

Response from Dr. Henry

Most patients can do well for several years with a CD 4 count in that range. Other issues impact the prognosis. How do you fell, what is the HIV level, any resistance, is the CD4 count changing over time, how is your nutrition, any other infections (oral thrush, zoster). Each of those issues can influence how you are likely to do. Your HIV specialist is the best persons to discuss that with after he/she has become familiar with your situation. KH
