| Diabetes and HIV Jan 25, 2004 This more of a statement than question. Anyone faced with having both Diabetes and HIV knows what it is like to worry about whats going to happen. I have been insulin dependant for 25 years and HIV for 15 years. My statement is this, you are going to have ups and downs with both and the meds are going to cause problems. Test your sugars as much as possible and see your doctor. If problems occur, don't hesitate to tell your doctor to change your meds. You know how your body works better than anyone else. If your system gets out a balance, work with your doc and don't panic. Been there. Just stay on top of your situation and take an active role in decisions. Your doctor is there to help so make suggestions to him or her. By the way, my viral load is undetectable, TC around 950, and A1C is between 6.0 and 6.5. |
