Good day

I am treatment naive cd4 772 vl 125O. I have been positive now for 7 months..and I am already experiencing numbness in my dryness ..hands stiff..What can I do about it? thanks

Response from Dr. Henry

Complaints about dry skin and numbness in feet/stiff hands are nonspecific and can occur in the general population. A good evaluation by a primary care doctor would be a good start (complete examination and lab tests) to look for other conditions (blood vessel, nerve problems, etc). Dry skin (xeroderma) is particularly common in HIV+ patients and can be tough to take care of. Increasing humidity and skin moisturizers can be helpful. Seeing a dermatologist is often of benefit.
