2+ level of glucose in urine; none in blood
Sep 26, 2003

For the last year+ I've had glucose levels in my urine between 2 and 3. My doctor has several times tested my blood for diabetes with repeated negative. I have all the classic symptoms of type 2 diabetes (other than clinical)...excessive thirst, frequency of urination, fatigue, etc. I have no known risk factors other than being over 45. No smoking, hypertension, cholesterol or tiglycerides problems. I'm clinically stable on HAART and have been for some time.

Thanks, Mark

Response from Dr. Henry

You may want to take a glucose tolerance test or get a fasting insulin or HgA1c to further assess your level of glucose tolerance/insulin resistance. I would also carefully check your kidney function.KH

Life Expectancy
Please, help.
