Symptoms
Mar 5, 2001

Hello, Doctor. I have a mild tingling sensation in my right foot consistently and when I cant feel the sensation in my foot I feel a numbness in my right arm. Could this be related to neourpathy. I had a moderate risk encounter about 6 weeks ago,(insertive vanginal intercourse)with a condom however it started to come off but I realized it and put it on all the way. I've also had other symptoms, Diahrea 8 to 10 days after possible exposure, for 24hrs. fever, memory loss, etc. I'm not sure if my urethara was exposed to any of her vaginal fluids. Please, Please answer.

Response from Dr. Henry

It would be extremely unsual for those symptoms to be due to HIV infection. I would go discuss with you doc and consider an HIV test just to relieve your anxiety (it would be negative from the exposures you described). KH
