I was just put on kaletra bid and combivir bid is this a good choice and do they work well with each other what are the most common and serious side effcts and would you recomend this combonation thank you in advance very woried since nothing else seems to be working . thank you .

That is a good choice in many instances. The major side effects are stomach/GI and elevated lipids. Many of the GI effects diminish with time for most (but not all) patients. How well that combination will work depends on what drugs you have been on in the past and how much resistance has developed. Religiously taking the meds affords them the best chance to work well. KH
