flu effects
May 17, 2002

I'm on an sti(dr. approved)and promised to have my cd4 count and vl done at 21 days.(I'm going to do everything because I'm curious about lipids, red counts etc.) the problem is the flu is running trough my household and although it hasen't hit me full blown I am feeling tired.should I wait an extra week or go through with the sceduled labs?

Response from Dr. Henry

This really isn't the flu (=influenza) season but there may be various other viral infections (GI or respiratory) active in your region. If you careful with handwashing, etc and have no symptoms when your test is scheduled then it should be OK to get tested as planned. KH
