Response from Dr. Bartlett
Neuropathy can be a real problem. Are you on any medications which could cause neuropathy such as D4T, DDI or DDC? Are you drinking alcohol habitually? Neuropathy can also be related to HIV itself. Amitriptyline, or Elavil, is a commonly employed treatment for neuropathy. Other drugs which can help include Neurontin and lamotrigine. Nerve growth factor is also being evaluated as treatment. Good luck! | |||||||||
