TOO TIRED AND SORE FOR WORDS!
Mar 9, 2002

I am currently taking Agenerase 150mg 5 capsules 2 times a day, Norvir 100mg 1 cap 2 times a day, Zerit 40mg 1 cap 2 times a day, Videx 400mg 1 cap 1 a day, Ibuprofen 600mg 1 caplet 3 times a day,Lipitor 10mn 1 tab 1 a day, Zyrtec 10mg 1 tab 1 a day,Imdur 30mg 1 tab a dayUnivasc 7.5mg 1 tab a day, Acylovir 400mg 1 tab 2 times a day, Elavil 25mg 1 tab at night, Xanax .5mg 1 tab 2 times a day, asprin 81mg 1 tab a day, Central-Vite (select) 1 tab 2 times a day and Marinol 5mg 1 cap 2 times a day. i had to start taking the marinol, because i am continously nauseous. I noticed it is helping the pain in my feet feel much more tolerable. my viral load is doun and my cd4 is low. I am wondering if it is normal to not know what i'm doing half of the time. My doc. says he has to give me the ealvil or change my regimin, to be able to give me something more affective. I believe when i started the marinol 2 weeks ago the pain is more tollerable.Could it be the marinol that is helping me? Thankyou in advance for your help!

Response from Dr. Henry

the D4T and ddI would likely be contributing to your neuropathy. You should be seen be an HIV experienced neurologist. Switching off the D drugs might provide some benefit or at least slow down the process (abacavir, tenofovir, AZT and 3TC are options often used). Neurontin is now popular for treating neuropathy.
