| post nasal drip JB Jan 8, 2001 Hello. I read the recent post and answer regarding nasal drip and sinus symptoms in HIV positive individuals. I am a person who has recently tested negative for HIV but spend perhaps too much time thinking about "rare" or "undetectable" strains of HIV. I have had a post nasal drip for a long time (probably since before I ever did anything to put myself at risk for HIV). Yet the association between sinus problems and HIV scares me. Isn't this condition pretty common in the general population? Should a person who has this be concerned about HIV? Thank you for your time. |

Response from Dr. Bartlett
Postnasal drip is an incredibly common symptom in the general population and is not specific for HIV. I encourage you to keep safe, and be reassured by your repeatedly negative HIV tests. John A. Bartlett, M.D. | ||||||||||
