My lack of sexual desire living with HIV?
Jan 17, 2001

My mate & I have been together over nine years. I am HIV pos. and have been for four years. In the past six months I have not been very active. We are both getting Frustrated.

What can I do to bring back my desire (Safely)?

Response from Dr. Young

Lack of sexual desire is fairly common among those living with HIV infection. There are multiple causes, starting with the stress or fear of transmission of the virus. Many men with HIV have low testosterone levels; replacement of testosterone is an easy remedy. Some medications also result in low sexual drive or frank impotency too. I'd certainly speak to your physician about these symptoms. BY
