If a person left hiv untreated, and had rapidly falling CD4's, would this alter the person's sed rate? I know that this is not a way of diagnosing hiv, but can there be some kind of correlation? Will the sed rate change with virus progression?

Good question. I am not aware that the sed rate has been studied as an indicator of progressive HIV infection. On the other hand, do we really need to when we have such reliable and validated indicators as plasma HIV RNA and CD4 counts. I would strongly recommend having these tests performed to get the most useful information.
