Side effects of Emtricitabine - BY Oct 13, 2000 Although i do not have HIV, i'm a Hep B carrier, and i do know Emtricitabine is a drug that can be used for both (?) I would really want to know the known side effects of those who consume emtricitabine, and the nature/task of this drug. And how long does the drug remain in the blood, if i should consume it for a period of ..say 1 year(daily), would i possibly suffer from chronic side effects like migraine...gastric problems etc. etc... |

 Emtricitabine is generally very well tolerated, and most who take it don't have significant side effects. I share your concern about long term side effects and complications; since the drug is still in development, we really cannot yet predict these. -BY Benjamin Young, M.D., Ph.D. | ||||||||
