| switching meds Jan 15, 2002 Hello, I have severe lypoatrophy and lipodystrophy. I am switching from Crixivan,Epivir,Zerit to Ziagen,Viread,Susiva because of this. Also going to have New Fill injections done on my face. I took Norvir and could not do it felt like getting sick all the time. Do you think this is a good combination to switch to? I have had no side effects except the lipo's and the Norvir thing. Thanks for your imput. |

Response from Dr. Henry
There is not much info about the specific combination. If your virus is still sensitive to most drugs (i.e. you have experienced virologic failure on similar regimens) then that regimen might work from the virologic perspective. Don't expect dramatic changes in facial fat since that is not usually observed (but there are exceptions). Again the ACTG is planning a study of Avandia for lipoatrophy (stay tuned) which is getting much deserved attention not by researchers. KH | |||
