For a CD of 234 to drop to 213, does that indicate that I'm in dire straits?

No. The risk for AIDS related events is clustered among those with CD4 counts < 150 though risk for pneumocystis carinii pneumonia is increased with CD4 count < 200. The % CD4 count is often useful to interpret changes in the CD4 count which can bounce around and even vary from morning to afternoon. KH
