Veiny legs/arms
Jul 30, 2001

I have recently developed veiny arms and legs with the loss of muscle also. My question is: "is this condition suppose to be painful." My doctor says most people don't feel pain or weakness just recognize the veiny apperance. I have felt both. Is this normal?

Response from Dr. Boyle

No, that is not normal, and it merits further evaluation for evidence of muscle wasting and other disorders that are not consider a part of lipodystrophy but are considered a part of AIDS wasting syndrome and other conditions.
