stalnev 30 mg
Apr 9, 2008

what are the side effects of stalanev 30 mg tablets

Response from Dr. Henry

I believe Stananev is one of the generic forms of nevirapine, stavudine (D4T), and lamivudine (3TC). Stananev 30 contains 30 mg of D4T per dose. The side effects are the additive effect of each of the three components the details of which can be looked up on the body website under the drugs section or at www.aidsinfonet.org

Briefly, the 3TC is usually very well tolerated. D4T often has minimize initial side effects but can occasionally cause peripheral neuropathy, lactic acidosis (less often at lower 30 mg dose), fat loss, pancreatitis, and other side effects. Nevirapine can cause a skin reaction (occasionally severe) or liver problems particularly in first several months of use and in persons with higher CD4 counts when started. KH
