   Response from Dr. Henry

I have been involved with studies of growth hormone releasing factor so I am familiar with the product and results of studies to date. The drug is not approved for use in HIV+ patients in the US. It has to be injected, is likely to be very expensive, and the effects wane when stopped. The initial results are promising showing modest decreases in intra-abdominal fat with acceptable side effect profile. I am aware of any country where the drug is approved for use in HIV patients and/or where insurance would pay for it for use for treatment of lipodystrophy. If any reader knows of a country where it is available please post! KH
