4 Dr.'s lots of meds and feeling lousy
Jul 9, 2009
Dear Dr.
My ID Dr. has me on Kaletra and Truvada vl <50 cd4 450 due to ks returning after I switched to Atripla.
Due to high blood pressure and kidney problems he referred me to a nephrologist who has prescribed diovan hct 160/12.5.
I had a seizure in March and now see a neurologist and am on Keppra 500 mg twice a day.
My regular Dr. basically just writes referrals to all the other Dr's. My problem is that none of the Dr's will comment on any meds prescribed by the other Dr.s. My blood pressure on diovan hct has been running 95/60. I feel really tired and uninterested in anything. I don't know if my meds are interacting in a bad way with each other or I need a dose adjustment or my testosterone is too low or its the keppra or what because when I ask one Dr. about one of my meds if they didn't prescribe it they won't comment and I am running between all these dr.'s and not sure what is going on.
Would you have any suggestions as to which med maybe giving me to most problems or what you could advise I do. Which medication am I most likely feeling really lethargic and tired from? Is it the diovan hct or the keppra or a combo? Any other suggestions would be helpful.
Many Thanks

Response from Dr. Henry

Generally those meds can be taken together but there may be individual sensitivity. A blood pressure of 95/60 may be too low. Keppra can cause lethargy/sleepiness. KH
