| How risky? Sep 29, 2000 Ryan, I masturbated a man I met on vacation, after he came on my hand I continued masturbating myself. I didn't think about the risk at the time. A few days after returning home I ran a fever for 3 days and had diarrhea. My doctor performed several test including an antibody test and a viral load/pcr test and nothing showed up. I am still a nervous wreck. I don't know if I should have another viral load/pcr in a month or wait three months for regular antibody testing. |

Response from Mr. Kull
I think that this one incident is low-risk. It's possible to be infected if HIV positive semen comes into contact with your urethra, but this one-time experience puts the odds in your favor. I'd also be surprised if you were showing primary infection symptoms that close to an exposure. You might have had some transient viral infection. Why not wait until three months elapse to get another antibody test? The negative pcr test is a good sign that you are HIV negative. RMK | |||
