 Hi. Thank you for your question. I'm assuming you're talking about the Herpes simplex virus (sexually transmitted herpes). Under natural conditions, the herpes virus will not survive at all outside the human body. This virus is NOT transmitted through any form of casual contact, including toilet seats, and everyday household contact. This infection is transmitted by DIRECT contact with a herpes lesion on the mouth, genitals, or anus. If your mouth, genitals or anus does not come in direct contact with a herpes lesion, you are not at risk of this infection. Because this virus does not survive outside the human body, it is NOT transmitted by everyday casual contact.
