Please refer to my response "Deep Kissing and HIV" for my a specific response to that article. There has been no change in the general consensus about HIV transmission through kissing: there is no evidence that it happens. Even though HIV can be isolated in saliva, the concentrations are probably too low to cause infection. At this point in the epidemic, it is highly likely that there would be documentation of transmission through kissing if it occurred (there was one case that was investigated, but had inconclusive findings).
