Diarea-symptom of HIV infection?
May 17, 2001
Please tell me if diarea that lasts for 3 weeks with peak periods during weekends can be a symptom of HIV infection?
Response from Mr. Kull
Diarrhea can be a symptom of different conditions or infections, including HIV infection. However, you cannot determine whether or not you are HIV infected based on symptoms alone. You also need to take into account your actual risk for infection. By focusing only on HIV, you may be missing a simple underlying cause to your diarrhea.
Any physical or psychological symptoms that you experience for an ongoing period of time should be talked about with your doctor.
