My mother takes care of a man who has a bad cut in his foot and has hep c. She doesn't wear gloves while she's changimg hs banage. And rarely washes he hands afterwards. How likely is she to catch or have it

Response from Dr. Wohl

There is a risk of HCV transmission here. It is hard to say how great. HCV is much more easily transmitted than HIV and HBV even more so than the others. She should wear gloves, of course.
