HIV, broken condoms, and risk
Aug 23, 2014

Hi, do you know cases where they contracted hiv, using condoms where the condom might hav unknowingly broken

Response from Mr. Glenn

Thanks for your question,

There are cases, like which someone is under the influence of alcohol or drugs for instance, when they may not notice that a condom has broken. If a condom has broken and sex continues for awhile there can be risk for HIV/STDs.

But this is all hypothetical. If you're thinking of a specific situation that you're in, I'd provide those details in a new question so we can answer that directly. Also, feel free to explore our archived answers. Those might be helpful to you.

Hope this helps,

Erik
