i was wondering if incest is the reason or occurence/birth for hiv?i mean having sex in same genes/DNA can harm someone & give them hiv ?For Example:sex with first cousins,bro-sis or any close relative relationships in family blood line?

Response from Dr. Wohl

No. HIV is a virus, not a genetic mutation. It originated in primate hosts and jumped to humans as we entered into forests, cut timber, and feasted on these monkeys. People now get this virus from each other, via unprotected sex, unscreened blood products, sharing injection equipment, and from infected mothers to their infants.
