Dec 10, 2013

Dear dr Please let me know which type of pcr test is appropriate for early detection?pcr dna?pcr rna? Qualitative? Quanyitative?and when is the best time?...I will appriciate if explained by you

Response from Dr. Wohl

An HIV RNA PCR is an excellent test to look for early HIV infection. Both qualitative (virus present: yes, no) or quantitative (counts amount of virus) work well.
