Hep c risk sharps container
Nov 1, 2013
Just worried my 1 and half year old daughter put her hand in a sharps container at std clinic while i took my good friend to be tested. I'm so worried because that is where people get treatment for hepititis c. If she did put her hand in a sharps container as toddlers touch everything what would be her chances of contracting hep c? if she did put her hand in would i have noticed. I really appreciate your help if you could please answer
Response from Mr. Glenn
Thanks for your question,
Merely putting your hand in a sharps container IS NOT risky for HEP C.
HEP C is only transmitted from blood getting inside the body through sharing needles or somehow getting infectious blood inside your body.
Hope this helps!
