Dr. kindly answer my question

Oct 15, 2013

3 months ago I went near prostitution area for some work. Women in that area came at me and forced me so I touched her to get lost. I am afraid that whether the blood (if blood is on her hands) that goes into my mouth after 2 minutes of that kindly help me in that situation, whether it is the way of transmission of HIV? Thank You..

Response from Ms. Southall

Hi This does not pose a risk. HIV transmission occurs when there is a direct and prolonged exchange of body fluid, blood, vaginal fluid, semen or breast milk/mother to child through feeding. This most commonly occurs through unprotected anal or vaginal sex or sharing needles. Just by casual contact, touching someone, sharing utensils, drinking after someone, does not pose a risk for HIV transmission.

You are HIV free from this experience.

Be well and stay safe, Shannon

I've been through enough. Want it to end
