|HIV Transmission Casual Contact
Sep 4, 2013
I shared a drink from a bottle with someone who is HIV+. I was offered a drink from a bottle of sprite which I accepted 2-3 times. I did not notice any blood on the mouth piece of the bottle.
Is there any risk of HIV transmission in this instance?

Hi You cannot get HIV from sharing utensils, drinking after someone, using hairbrushes etc..... HIV transmission occurs when there is a direct and prolonged exchange of body fluid which mainly occurs through anal, vaginal sex or sharing needles.
Be well and stay safe, Shannon
