Totally confused about HIV
Sep 2, 2013
In 2008, I talked with a person infected with AIDS. That time i was taking water/hot tea. He was standing in front of me very close. I have confusion is this possible to transmitted HIV from his saliva and dropped in water/my tea. May be his saliva contain contaminated blood.
Please suggest. A person gave me false information about this procedure. Please please help.
Response from Mr. Glenn
There is absolutely no risk from this situation. None.
Even if he spit bloody saliva into your tea, it would've been killed by the heat, diluted by the water, and just plain rendered unable to infect because it had been outside of the human body.
That being said, it does not sound like he spit bloody saliva into your tea! This would be necessary to even be concerned about risk and it didn't happen to this level.
Hope this helps,
