Has 9 weeks(60 days) negative result ever turned positive? I read through the internet and many experts said that they have not seen hiv negative test result at 9 weeks turned positive at 12 weeks.please I need your help

Response from Ms. Southall

Hi The testing guidelines are to be tested at 90 days and as long as there are no other exposures during this time then the results are negative. It is rare to see negative results at 9 weeks and have the 90 day or 12 week results be positive. It is rare but it can happen. Testing sensitivities are changing a lot and getting more and more sensitive and this is allowing for testing to pick up antibodies sooner. But it is still a recommendation to receive testing at the 90 days point.

Be well and stay safe, Shannon
