Contagious after Syphilis Treatment

Aug 21, 2013

I received a titer of 1:16 on August 8 2013 got a shot in both cheeks, and another shot in both cheeks again on August 15, 2013. I had no signs or symptoms of syphilis outbreak. My titer in July was 1:4. Am I at risk of passing syphilis on at this point. I am dating someone now and always wear a condom for anal sex.

Response from Dr. Hightow-Weidman

Hello there- Depending on the stage of syphilis that you were diagnosed with, you should have received either 1 or 3 sets of shots. I'm not aware of any protocols in which two sets of shots is recommended. You are no longer considered contagious when the appropriate treatment has been completed so I would talk with your care provider. Take care, LHW

Posting 2nd time. Please answer. Is this Acute Retroviral Syndrome ?
