Frottage with Anal Rubbing
Jul 24, 2013

Hello. I have an HIV risk question regarding frottage. If someone's been fingered and lubed up in foreplay and then frottage occurs where the other person's penis rubs up against the person's hole, would there be a risk there even though its frottage? No official penetration, but "knocking on the backdoor" so to speak did occur.

Response from Mr. Glenn

Thanks for your question,

The risk of HIV from anal sex comes from blood in the anus that occurs due to the stretching and tearing from being penetrated. Even if some stretching occurred from the fingering (depending on how aggressive it was), rubbing a penis against the butt hole doesn't really give the kind of contact we need for any blood in the anus to get up and inside the penis. Likewise, fluid from the penis (pre-cum) wouldn't get a chance to get up and inside the anus.

Hope this helps!

Erik
