RE(1): A question for relief

Jul 1, 2013

Thanks a lot! So if someone with good dental health would come to urgency and ask for PeP you wouldn't prescribe it to him? What if there were more than one contact (5 times) but never unprotected intercourse? Also, do the fluids that "make the girl wet" have the virus in it or only the fluid the girl "comes" with has the virus present? What about my comparison to the pills and have you ever encountered a case of transmission in that way? And please tell me something regarding numbers what means this "several", "few"? Thanks a lot and sorry for much questions am really worried!!

Response from Ms. Southall

Hi Correct. If someone came in with good dental health and good overall health PEP would be something to talk about with the health care worker but normally this would not be a incident that would warrant PEP. Vaginal fluid can contain HIV, not just ejaculate. Numbers are hard to give an exact amount. Just know that as long as you protect yourself and are aware of your partners and know how to keep safe. Clicking onto HIV transmission will take you to the page on our site that gives you all the information on HIV transmission.

Be well, Shannon
