hi there doctor Wohl, I am so glad there is sites like this one for people to acquire and ask questions. I had protected sex with SW in south America, when I came back a week after went to get tested with a regular antibody test which came back negative. not happy with that test and because of some night sweets I went for and RNA for HIV-1 at day 23rd which also came back negative. after that not convinced with those results and after reading pretty much every Dr in the web say test to be sure after three months, I went for and antibody test for HIV-1/2 at 7 weeks or to be more accurate 47 days which also came back negative. Is there any change I could be infected with HIV-1 or HIV2 virus? should I test again within the 90 days? thank you so much for all you input.
Response from Dr. Wohl
If you used a condom and it did not break, you have no reason to test for HIV and should consider the tests you have done conclusive.
