High risk HPV - infection sitesMay 3, 2013 I know (from experience) that the genital wart hpvs can occur at many places in the genital region. Are the cancer causing ones as equally wide ranging or are they more common on, or even limited to, the actual genitals - the penis in my case? |

![]() | Response from Mr. GlennThanks for your question, The short answer is yes, the type of HPV that is higher risk for cancer infects the same area you're describing. Keep in mind though, just because there's the chance of getting that type of HPV doesn't mean a person is going to get it. And if a person does get one of those kinds of HPV, it doesn't mean that the cellular changes that happen will progress to the point of cancer. Hope this helps! Erik | ||||||||
