Response from Ms. Southall

Hi You cannot get HIV through kissing. HIV is not transmitted through saliva. HIV transmission occurs when there is a direct exchange of body fluid, blood, semen, vagninal fluid or mother's breast milk. Since you have had many test and see a health care provider and they are unable to find anything at this point. I would say your anxiety around thinking you contracted HIV through kissing is playing a big part of this.

Response from Ms. Southall

Hi Testing guidelines are that at 90 days as long as there were no other exposures during that time the results are conclusive. You are on the right path for testing and at 80 days is a very good sign. Non reactive means just that, it is not picking up antibodies and so it is not reacting. This is good! Get tested again at the 90 day mark and you can move on knowing your status.

Be well and stay safe, Shannon
