Dear Mr. Cordova...................... Feb 26, 2013 Is the six month hiv timeframe enough for everybody to produce hiv antibodies? No exceptions? With modern hiv testing is it still possible to have hiv and four false negative tests? I wanna have a baby and need to be absolutely certain. You know of anybody in your or your colleagues expertise who took longer or never produced? I apologize for the multiple complicated questions. |

 Hi there: 90 days is enough time for a test. The only time the 90 day window does not apply is if at the time of infection, the person is the middle of an acute Hepatitis C infection. In this case, it would be possible for a person to take longer than 90 days to show up reactive on a test. Even in that case, your test would be accurate by six months. In health, Richard | ||||||||
