syringe and hiv Jan 22, 2013 you say HIV begins to die once it is outside of the body and unable to infect..how about transmission from syringe and drug injection?..i think the blood is outside the body (on syringe),why it can still to infect? |

 HI If you think of blood drying as a sponge dries. The stuff on the inside is the last to die. In an environment where a syringe is being used this time will extend some but still it begins to die. The high risk of sharing needles comes with the direct exchange of blood and that it is generally going directly into a vein. Be well and stay safe, Shannon | ||||||||
