My 4 year old fell on his hands and knees while walking outside in the city. We kept on walking but when I got to the car he had cut his knee. The cut looked like it was from a sharp object. I didn't know or remember exactly where he fell so I don't know what could have caused the scratch. It could have been a needle right? Could he get HIV in this way? What if he did fall on such a thing? I just need an expert opinion and would appreciate yours. Thank you for your time

Kids fall in the city all the time. The good news is that the chances of falling on a needle that is loaded to the hilt with infected blood is so small as to be considered inconsiderable. I would let this go and not worry.
