Squeezed pimples then bleeding with dirty hands

Jan 12, 2013

Hi Doctor, I came back home last night and start using my laptop without washing my hands, meanwhile, I was touching my popped pimples and then caused them bleeding. Would this be a risk to contract HIV if i had stained with someone's left semen or blood on my fingers/hands from outside? Thank you very much!

Response from Mr. Glenn

Thanks for your question,

There is no risk from the situation you're describing.

You can only get HIV when body fluid carrying HIV (e.g. blood, semen, breast milk, vaginal fluids) leaves a person's body and goes immediately/directly inside someone else's body. All of that must happen. In your case none of that did.

The main point is there was no immediate/direct contact!

Hope this helps!
