Response from Ms. Southall
Hi I'm happy to hear that you not only know your status but that you are on meds as well! We know that someone on meds and having an undetectable viral load the risk of transmission reduces by up to 96%. So his risk is very small. But I want to caution you that just having an undetectable viral load doesn't prevent exposure of other sexually transmitted infections that not only folks without HIV have to worry about but most especially those of us that also have HIV. We don't need another infection to fight as our body's fight HIV. Condoms are our friends, not only to protect our partners but ourselves as well. Be well, Shannon | |||||||||
