fear of hiv
Jan 9, 2013

i had sex with a prostitute. i wore a condom. im 90 percent sure it did not break. but i was drunk so who knows. i only had sex with her one time and she did give me hsv 2 but that can be given without protection. i tested neg for chlmydia and gonorrea. i did ejaculate but it was in the condom. a month later i am not sleepn well i am now freakn out that im hiv pos. lets say it did break. what are my chances if she was positive for hiv??

Response from Ms. Southall

Hi You had protected sex which decreases the risk of HIV transmission dramatically. It is also much more difficult for a woman to pass the virus onto a man. But seeing that there was another sexually transmitted infection present and passed does increase the chances of HIV transmission if indeed she is positive. The only way to know for sure is to be tested.

Be well and stay safe, Shannon
