| Work exposure Jan 9, 2013 I came into contact with blood at my work place. A coworker cut there hand with a box knife and got blood on the box not a huge amount but maye a 50 cent piece size. I touched it 4 minutes later with cracked splits in my hands from dry skin but non bleeding. Does this put me at risk for Hiv or hep c. I appreciate your advice in advance Im worried because I have a new baby. I want to get tested if warranted.. |

Response from Ms. Southall
Hi Sorry this has happened. HIV is not a concern for you in this situation. HIV begins to die once it is outside of the body. Hepatitis C dies survive longer outside of the body, but getting it through your cut is difficult as well. Be well and stay safe, Shannon | |||||||||
