hiv risk from helping guy with seizure
Dec 28, 2012

This may be a dumb question. I was working when a guy started to have a seizure feel and hit his head. I cannot remember if he was bleeding from his head. I turned him over on his side and noticed my hand was red from being irritated and I think a piece of his hair got stuck in me. Assuming there was some blood on that piece of hair am I at risk of getting HIV. He is HIV positive according to his boyfriend

Response from Mr. Cordova

Hi there:

There is no risk in a situation like this. HIV is not transmitted via casual contact.

In health,

Richard
