Need guidance Dec 17, 2012 Mam i am 20 years old. From about 1 weak i have observed some changes in my body: 1. This time i am down with periods 1 weak late and getting dark color blood. 2. I am feeling some burning sensations in my lower part and feeling like something is pricking. Actually i had oral sex with a man who is not infected about 1 month ago. I am not able to understand what all is this? Can STI be transmitted from an uninfected person to another uninfected person? Is the above symptoms mentioned are of STI or or UTI or something else? Please help me mam...Really scared |

 Hi HIV and other STI's can only be transmitted if they are present. Oral sex carries the lowest risk of HIV transmission but is a way for other STI's to be transmitted. Your symptoms are not signs of HIV. If your only exposure was with a man that you are 100% sure is not positive for HIV than your risk is not there. If your symptoms continue I would recommend you following up with your health care provider to assess what is happening. Be well and stay safe, Shannon | ||||||||
