| Are HIV test types are region/Geography specific? Dec 12, 2012 Hi, I had an exposure in south America and got tested in India at the interval of 8 Week, 10 Week and 13 week. All test came back Non Reactive. I took following tests 1. 8 Week ELISA 2. 10 Week Duo Test (CMIA) 3. 13 week Tridot I just want to know if my result is conclusive or I need any further testing. In few forums doctors have answered that test are region specific and they will detect only the Virus type which are common for that particular region. This has again triggered my Anxiety and I feel that all my results are False negative because I had an exposure in different region and got tested in different region. Please help. |

Response from Mr. Cordova
Hi there: Newer HIV tests screen for HIV 1 & 2. Your 13 week test would be considered conclusive. You are negative from this incident. In health, Richard | |||||||||
